The rim board is made of red cedar, and the pillar standing on it is made of  Kobushi log (log with mild  fragrance)

Inland pine logs are used to create a sense of power. 
All the pillars and beams are painted with old colors, reminiscent of old machiya houses (one of Japanese traidional style of architecture).

Light from the outside illuminates the log beams.

View of the alcove of the six tatami mat room

The floor pillars are made of old cedar logs that were used in the Gassho-zukuri style building. 
The next to alcove consists of pine treads, shelves, and tenbukuro, and sooty bamboo is used for the wall-mounted ornament .

The sunlight shining through the ground window illuminates the cypress floorboard.

The floor and hip walls are made of Japanese cypress and painted with persimmon tannin. 

The walls are finished with red Otsu polish.
